When you buy FieldKo as an independent software vendor (ISV) app, you install FieldKo’s 2 managed packages in your company’s own Salesforce org. You buy Salesforce user licenses from Salesforce, and FieldKo licenses from FieldKo. Your users keep everything their Salesforce licenses already include, and FieldKo adds its objects, apps, and the FieldKo Atlas app on top.

Supported Salesforce Editions

Salesforce Platform licenses, which most FieldKo reps use, can’t be added to Group or Professional Edition orgs. See Architectural Considerations for Group and Professional Editions in the Salesforce ISVforce Guide. To check your edition, from Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Company Information, and then select Company Information. Look at Organization Edition.

Choose a Salesforce License for Each User

Almost everything a rep or manager touches in FieldKo is a FieldKo custom object, plus accounts, contacts, and activities. A Salesforce Platform license includes accounts, contacts, and activities, so it’s the usual choice for reps and managers. Each user has only one Salesforce user license, so a user who also needs customer relationship management (CRM) features, such as opportunities or support cases, gets a Sales Cloud or Service Cloud license instead of a Platform license. FieldKo works with either. If you change a user’s license, Salesforce removes their permission sets, so assign their FieldKo permission sets again afterward. Salesforce sells Platform licenses in several versions, including these 2: Custom objects from a managed package that’s publicly listed on AppExchange don’t count toward a Platform license’s custom object limit. Your own custom objects do. Which version fits each type of user depends on how FieldKo is set up for you and the custom objects you’ve added, so confirm with your FieldKo contact before you buy. What a Platform License Includes for FieldKo

What Needs Another Salesforce License

Platform licenses don’t include most Sales Cloud and Service Cloud features. A user who needs them must have a license that includes them, such as a Sales Cloud or Service Cloud license, instead of a Platform license.

Integration Users

Integrations that load products, accounts, or orders, or that read survey answers into a data warehouse, should log in as a dedicated integration user, not as a person. In many editions, Salesforce offers an integration user license for access only through the API. Check whether it’s available in your org on the Company Information page, and give the integration user only the object access it needs. If the integration reads or writes FieldKo objects, it also needs a FieldKo license. See Integrate FieldKo with Other Systems.

Portal Users

Retailers or distributors who view or place FieldKo orders in a portal need Experience Cloud licenses, such as Customer Community or Partner Community. FieldKo includes separate permission sets for them. See Customer Portal (Optional).
