When you buy FieldKo with Salesforce included, also called the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or embedded model, FieldKo sets up a new Salesforce org for you with FieldKo installed. Your FieldKo subscription includes the Salesforce user licenses and the FieldKo licenses, so you don’t need a separate contract with Salesforce.

What You Get

Your subscription sets how many of each license you have. To see them, from Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Company Information, and then select Company Information. The User Licenses and Permission Set Licenses related lists show what you have and what’s used. FieldKo licenses are on the Installed Packages page.

Use Is Limited to FieldKo

The included Salesforce licenses can be used only with FieldKo. Salesforce’s terms for these licenses, the Salesforce.com (SFDC) Terms of Use for OEM partners, are part of your agreement with FieldKo. Under them:
  • You can use Salesforce only as part of FieldKo, in the form FieldKo provides it.
  • You can’t create or use custom objects beyond those in FieldKo, unless your order form says you can.
  • You can’t use Salesforce features beyond those that FieldKo’s documentation describes.
  • Salesforce can share data about your org’s usage with FieldKo, so FieldKo can manage your subscription.
You can still configure FieldKo the way this site describes, for example with your own fields, page layouts, flows, reports, and dashboards. FieldKo’s order form also lets you create up to 10 custom objects of your own, as long as you use them only with FieldKo, for example, to hold extra details about visits or stores. What the Included Licenses Cover

The included user license covers everything FieldKo needs:

What They Don’t Cover

The included licenses don’t give access to Salesforce’s customer relationship management (CRM) products, such as Sales Cloud and Service Cloud. Users can’t use:
  • Leads
  • Opportunities and forecasts
  • Cases and solutions
  • Campaigns
  • Quotes
FieldKo doesn’t need any of these. 2 optional FieldKo features use them: syncing opportunities to the app, and syncing cases to the app. They’re available only to users whose Salesforce license, bought from Salesforce, includes those objects. Salesforce’s own paid add-ons, such as CRM Analytics, aren’t included.

Add Users or Storage

Your agreement is with FieldKo, so you add to it through FieldKo, not Salesforce. To add users, admin licenses, or storage, contact your FieldKo account manager or support@fieldko.com. When new licenses arrive, assign them as usual. Create the user with the included Salesforce license, assign them a license for each FieldKo package, and add their FieldKo permission sets. See Add a New Rep.

If You Also Want Other Salesforce Products

If your company wants Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or another Salesforce product, talk to your FieldKo account manager first. Salesforce allows licenses bought directly from Salesforce to be added to the same org, but:
  • Those licenses come under a separate contract between your company and Salesforce.
  • Users on the included Salesforce licenses stay limited to FieldKo. Each user has only one Salesforce user license, so a user who needs Sales Cloud features needs a Sales Cloud license instead of an included one.
  • FieldKo licenses can be assigned to users with any Salesforce license, so a user with a Sales Cloud license can use FieldKo too.
  • Salesforce’s terms call this a shared org. If your company breaches its separate contract with Salesforce, Salesforce can suspend or end access to the whole org, including FieldKo, with no refund. See section 5.3 of the SFDC Terms of Use (Applies to OEM Partners).

Your Agreement and Salesforce

Your contract is with FieldKo. Salesforce isn’t a party to it, but its terms of use are part of it, and Salesforce can enforce them. If FieldKo’s own agreement with Salesforce ever ended, your Salesforce subscription would continue under Salesforce’s terms of use until the end of its current term, as long as you’re not in breach of those terms and Salesforce has been paid for it. See sections 5.2 and 9.7 of the SFDC Terms of Use (Applies to OEM Partners).
