User Permissions Needed
Apps That FieldKo Installs
The FieldKo package installs 2 apps. Find them in the App Launcher.
The FieldKo Native package adds tabs but no app of its own. Attendance, Sync Details, Pack Outs, Incidents, Metadata Collector, and FieldKo Theme aren’t in the FieldKo app’s navigation after install, and neither is FieldKo Configuration. Managers and admins open them from the App Launcher. Adding the ones your team uses to the app’s navigation saves them a search every day.
Edit the App’s Navigation and Utility Bar
To add tabs such as Attendance and Sync Details to the FieldKo app, edit it in App Manager:- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter
App Manager, and then select App Manager. - In the row for FieldKo, click the dropdown arrow, and then click Edit.
- Click Navigation Items, move the tabs you want into Selected Items, and drag them into order.
- Optional: Click Utility Items to add a utility bar, for example Recent Items or a Report Chart that shows today’s visits.
- Click Save.
Build a Manager Home Page
FieldKo doesn’t include a home page component of its own, so build the manager home page from standard Lightning components. A good field team home page answers “Is my team on track today and this week?” at a glance.
Create the list views and reports first, and then build the page:
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter
Lightning App Builder, and then select Lightning App Builder. - Click New, select Home Page, and then click Next.
- Enter a label, such as
Field Manager Home, choose a template, and then click Finish. - Drag the components from the table onto the page, and then set each one’s report, list view, or dashboard.
- Click Save, and then click Activation.
- Assign the page in one of these ways, and then click Save:
- App default: Make it the home page for the FieldKo app, so everyone who uses that app sees it.
- App and profile: Make it the home page for managers’ profiles in the FieldKo app, and keep the standard home page for everyone else.
Before You Change a Live App
- Make app and home page changes in a sandbox first, and check them as a manager user. See Manage Releases: Sandboxes, Deployments, and Package Upgrades.
- If you remove a tab from an app, people can still open it from the App Launcher if their permission set grants it. To remove access, change the permission set, not the app.
- Reps don’t need either app to use the FieldKo Atlas app.
