FieldKo records have 2 kinds of screen definitions, and they control different places:
  • Lightning record pages control what managers and admins see when they open a record in Salesforce on desktop.
  • Page layouts control the fields, sections, and related lists in the FieldKo Atlas app, and the record detail on desktop.
Knowing which one to change saves you from editing a Lightning page and wondering why reps don’t see the change. This page explains both, and how to set up list views for managers.

User Permissions Needed

Which One Controls the FieldKo Atlas App

The app reads the page layout assigned to each rep’s profile and the record’s record type. To show reps a different layout without changing their profile assignment, add a FieldKo Layout Override record. See Page Layouts.
If you move a Lightning page to Dynamic Forms, the field sections on the Lightning page stop following the page layout on desktop, but the FieldKo Atlas app still follows the page layout. Keep the page layout up to date for reps, even when managers never see it.

Lightning Record Pages

Depending on your package versions, FieldKo installs Lightning record pages for its main objects. Most of them show the standard record detail (from the page layout), related lists, and one or more FieldKo components. You can’t edit a Lightning page that’s installed by a managed package. To change one, open it in Lightning App Builder, click Clone, change your copy, and then activate the copy for the apps, record types, and profiles you choose. Package upgrades don’t change your copy, so check FieldKo’s release notes for new components you might want to add to it. Useful changes for managers:
  • Use Dynamic Forms on your copy to show fields such as Check In Compliance Reason and Distance From Account to Checkin (km) only when they have a value.
  • Add a Related List - Single component for Tasks on the Visit page, showing Status, Task Type, and Reason For Incompletion.
  • On Account, add a related list of Visits sorted by Planned Start, so managers see visit frequency at a glance.
To learn how to clone and activate pages, see the Lightning App Builder module on Trailhead.

Page Layouts

Page layouts that a package installs are yours to edit in your org, and package upgrades don’t overwrite your changes. Upgrades also don’t add new packaged fields to layouts you already have, so after an upgrade, check the release notes and add any new fields reps need. FieldKo uses record types to switch layouts as work progresses. Visits have the Not Started, In Progress, Completed, and Cancelled record types, and tasks have Not Started, In Progress, and Completed. Each record type can have its own layout. For example, a field you add only to the In Progress visit layout appears in the app only while the rep is checked in. See Record Types and Validation Rules. To change what reps see:
  1. Edit the page layout assigned to the reps’ profile for each record type they use. To find it, from Setup, open Object Manager, select the object, and then click Page Layouts and Page Layout Assignment.
  2. Rerun the Metadata Collector. See Run the Metadata Collector.
  3. Ask reps to tap Sync, and then run Reset Sync.
For the full steps, including field-level security and picklists, see Add Fields and Picklists to the Mobile App.

List Views for Managers

After install, FieldKo objects have only an All list view (All Visits on Visits). Create list views that match how managers work, and share them with a manager public group. List views follow sharing, so each manager sees only the records they can access. For how managers see their team’s records, see Set Up Manager Visibility.
