# Plan Your Route on the Map

> See your day's visits on a map, find nearby accounts, and plan the best route between stops.

Use the visit map to see your day's visits as pins, find nearby accounts, and get a suggested or optimized route through your remaining visits.

To open the map, in the side menu, tap **Visit Map**.

## Before You Begin

* **The map needs an internet connection.** When you're offline, you see "You are in offline mode".
* **Route planning needs your location.** Turn on location for **FieldKo Atlas** in your device settings.

## See Your Visits

The map shows visits for the date at the top. To pick another day, tap the date.

Pins are colored by status:

| Color | Status |
| - | - |
| Blue | Not Started |
| Orange | In Progress |
| Green | Completed |
| Gray | Cancelled |

To show or hide visits by status, tap the **Not Started**, **In Progress**, and **Completed** chips. Nearby pins group together. Zoom in to separate them.

Each pin opens a visit card, where you can open the visit or get directions to it:

1. Tap a pin to see the visit card.
2. Tap **View Visit** or **Directions**.

## Find Nearby Accounts

Nearby accounts help you find stores to visit in the area you're looking at:

1. On the map, turn on **Nearby Accounts**. The map shows accounts in the area you're looking at.
2. Tap an account. Its card shows when it was last visited.
3. Tap **Create Visit** or **Directions**. To learn more, see [Create a Visit](/visits/create-visit).

If you see "No coordinates found for this account", the account has no location in Salesforce. Ask your admin to add a location to the account, and include the account name.

## Plan Your Route

The map can draw a route through your remaining visits for the day:

1. On the map, tap the action button.
2. Tap one of these options:
   * **Suggest Route**: Draws a route from where you are through the day's remaining visits, in planned order. The **Suggested Route** sheet shows total distance, travel time, and estimated arrival times. Arrival times assume each visit takes 60 minutes.
   * **Optimize Route**: Suggests a faster order. The **Optimization Summary** compares the original and optimized routes. To show the new route, tap **Accept**. To keep the original, tap **Reject**.
3. To open turn-by-turn directions, tap the navigation icon next to a stop. Directions open in your [preferred maps app](/getting-started/settings#navigation).

<Note>
  Accepting an optimized route changes only the route on the map. It doesn't change your visits' planned times. To reschedule visits, use the [calendar](/visits/calendar#reschedule-a-visit).
</Note>

## Messages You Might See

| Message | What It Means | What to Do |
| - | - | - |
