# FieldKo in Your Own Salesforce Org

> Check which Salesforce editions FieldKo supports, which Salesforce license each user needs, and what Platform licenses include in your own org.

When you buy FieldKo as an independent software vendor (ISV) app, you install FieldKo's 2 managed packages in your company's own Salesforce org. You buy Salesforce user licenses from Salesforce, and FieldKo licenses from FieldKo. Your users keep everything their Salesforce licenses already include, and FieldKo adds its objects, apps, and the FieldKo Atlas app on top.

## Supported Salesforce Editions

| Edition | Supported for FieldKo |
| - | - |
| Enterprise Edition | Yes |
| Unlimited Edition | Yes |
| Performance Edition | Yes. Salesforce no longer sells it, but existing orgs are supported. |
| Sandboxes | For testing and training. See [Manage Releases: Sandboxes, Deployments, and Package Upgrades](https://support.fieldko.com/platform/data/releases.md). |
| Professional, Essentials, Group, and Starter Editions | No |

Salesforce Platform licenses, which most FieldKo reps use, can't be added to Group or Professional Edition orgs. See [Architectural Considerations for Group and Professional Editions](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/isvforce/guide/dev-packages-for-pe-ge.html) in the Salesforce ISVforce Guide.

To check your edition, from Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter `Company Information`, and then select **Company Information**. Look at **Organization Edition**.

## Choose a Salesforce License for Each User

Almost everything a rep or manager touches in FieldKo is a FieldKo custom object, plus accounts, contacts, and activities. A Salesforce Platform license includes accounts, contacts, and activities, so it's the usual choice for reps and managers. Each user has only one Salesforce user license, so a user who also needs customer relationship management (CRM) features, such as opportunities or support cases, gets a Sales Cloud or Service Cloud license instead of a Platform license. FieldKo works with either.

If you change a user's license, Salesforce removes their permission sets, so assign their FieldKo permission sets again afterward.

Salesforce sells Platform licenses in several versions, including these 2:

| | Platform Starter | Platform Plus |
| - | - | - |
| Custom objects each user can access | 10 | 110 |
| Data storage added to your org per user | 20 megabytes (MB) | 20 MB in Enterprise Edition, 120 MB in Unlimited Edition |
| File storage added to your org per user | 2 gigabytes (GB) | 2 GB |
| Application programming interface (API) calls per day added per user | 200 | 1,000 in Enterprise Edition, 5,000 in Unlimited Edition |

Custom objects from a managed package that's publicly listed on AppExchange don't count toward a Platform license's custom object limit. Your own custom objects do. Which version fits each type of user depends on how FieldKo is set up for you and the custom objects you've added, so confirm with your FieldKo contact before you buy.

## What a Platform License Includes for FieldKo

| Included | How FieldKo Uses It |
| - | - |
| Custom objects | Visits, tasks, surveys, call cycles, orders, ranging, attendance, and the rest of the [FieldKo data model](https://support.fieldko.com/platform/data-model.md) |
| Accounts and contacts | Accounts are the stores reps visit. FieldKo syncs each rep's accounts and their contacts to the app. |
| Tasks, events, and calendar | FieldKo can create a Salesforce event for each planned visit, and the app syncs each rep's events |
| Reports and dashboards | All FieldKo report types and your own reports and dashboards |
| Flow and approvals | Your own automation on FieldKo objects |
| Files, notes, and attachments | Photos and documents that reps capture |
| Chatter | FieldKo posts check-ins and check-outs to the account's Chatter feed by default |
| Roles and sharing | Manager visibility and record access |

## What Needs Another Salesforce License

Platform licenses don't include most Sales Cloud and Service Cloud features. A user who needs them must have a license that includes them, such as a Sales Cloud or Service Cloud license, instead of a Platform license.

| Feature | On a Platform License | Notes for FieldKo |
| - | - | - |
| Opportunities | Not included | The app can sync opportunities, and reps can create visits from opportunities, only for users whose license includes them |
| Leads | Not included | Not used by FieldKo |
| Cases | Included, but a Service Cloud license is needed for users who work as support agents | The app can sync cases for users whose license includes them |
| Campaigns | Not included | Not the same as FieldKo field campaigns, which are a custom object and work on a Platform license |
| Forecasts | Not included | Not used by FieldKo. Use reports on FieldKo orders instead. |
| Standard Products, Price Books, Orders, and Quotes | Not included | Not needed. FieldKo uses its own product, price book, and order objects. See [Set Up Products, Ordering, and Ranging](https://support.fieldko.com/admin/products-ordering-ranging.md). |

## Integration Users

Integrations that load products, accounts, or orders, or that read survey answers into a data warehouse, should log in as a dedicated integration user, not as a person. In many editions, Salesforce offers an integration user license for access only through the API. Check whether it's available in your org on the **Company Information** page, and give the integration user only the object access it needs. If the integration reads or writes FieldKo objects, it also needs a FieldKo license. See [Integrate FieldKo with Other Systems](https://support.fieldko.com/platform/integrations/integrate.md).

## Portal Users

Retailers or distributors who view or place FieldKo orders in a portal need Experience Cloud licenses, such as Customer Community or Partner Community. FieldKo includes separate permission sets for them. See [Customer Portal (Optional)](https://support.fieldko.com/admin/installation.md#customer-portal-optional).
