# Customize the FieldKo App and Home Page

> Tailor the FieldKo Lightning apps' navigation and utility bar, and build a manager home page with field team charts and lists.

FieldKo installs Salesforce apps that group its tabs for managers and admins. You can change which tabs appear in each app, add a utility bar, and give managers a home page that shows their team's coverage and compliance as soon as they log in. This page covers what FieldKo installs and how to tailor it.

These changes affect FieldKo in Salesforce on desktop only. They don't change the FieldKo Atlas app, whose side menu you control with the **Menu Configuration** custom setting. See [Side Menu](/admin/configuration-reference#side-menu).

## User Permissions Needed

| To do this | You need |
| - | - |
| Edit apps in App Manager | Customize Application |
| Create and activate Lightning pages | Customize Application |
| See FieldKo tabs in an app | FieldKo Manager Permission Set (or another permission set that grants the tabs) |

## Apps That FieldKo Installs

The FieldKo package installs 2 apps. Find them in the App Launcher.

| App | What It's For | Main Tabs |
| - | - | - |
| **FieldKo** | Day-to-day work for managers and admins | Accounts, Contacts, Call Cycles, Visit Calendar, Visit Planner, Field Campaign, Recurring Visits, Survey, Question, Task Types, Visit Templates, Account Sets, Objectives, Manage Visits, Visits, Clone Visits, Place Order, products, price books, FieldKo Orders, Ranging, Map, Reports, and Dashboards |
| **FieldKo Builder** | Building questions and surveys | Question and Survey, with its own utility bar |

The FieldKo Native package adds tabs but no app of its own. **Attendance**, **Sync Details**, **Pack Outs**, **Incidents**, **Metadata Collector**, and **FieldKo Theme** aren't in the FieldKo app's navigation after install, and neither is **FieldKo Configuration**. Managers and admins open them from the App Launcher. Adding the ones your team uses to the app's navigation saves them a search every day.

## Edit the App's Navigation and Utility Bar

To add tabs such as **Attendance** and **Sync Details** to the FieldKo app, edit it in App Manager:

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter `App Manager`, and then select **App Manager**.
2. In the row for **FieldKo**, click the dropdown arrow, and then click **Edit**.
3. Click **Navigation Items**, move the tabs you want into **Selected Items**, and drag them into order.
4. Optional: Click **Utility Items** to add a utility bar, for example **Recent Items** or a **Report Chart** that shows today's visits.
5. Click **Save**.

Depending on your package version, App Manager may list the FieldKo app as a Classic app, or may not let you edit a packaged app. If so, use **Upgrade** in that row to create a Lightning copy that you own, or create a new Lightning app with the FieldKo tabs your managers use, and then assign that app to their profiles. Package upgrades never change an app you created yourself. To learn how Lightning apps work, see the [Lightning Experience Customization](https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/modules/lex_customization) module on Trailhead.

## Build a Manager Home Page

FieldKo doesn't include a home page component of its own, so build the manager home page from standard Lightning components. A good field team home page answers "Is my team on track today and this week?" at a glance.

| Component | What to Show |
| - | - |
| **Report Chart** | Coverage this call cycle, call compliance (completed against planned visits), or strike rate. See the [Coverage Report Recipe](/managers/platform/recipes/coverage) and [Call Compliance Report Recipe](/managers/platform/recipes/call-compliance). |
| **List View** | A Visits list view of today's visits, filtered to **Planned Start** = TODAY and showing **Account**, **Sales Representative**, and **Status** |
| **List View** | Out-of-policy check-ins: visits where **Check In Compliance Reason** isn't blank |
| **Dashboard** | The team's perfect store or KPI dashboard. See [Build a Perfect Store Dashboard](/managers/platform/perfect-store-dashboard). |
| **Rich Text** | This week's priorities, such as the current promotion and which stores to focus on |

Create the list views and reports first, and then build the page:

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter `Lightning App Builder`, and then select **Lightning App Builder**.
2. Click **New**, select **Home Page**, and then click **Next**.
3. Enter a label, such as `Field Manager Home`, choose a template, and then click **Finish**.
4. Drag the components from the table onto the page, and then set each one's report, list view, or dashboard.
5. Click **Save**, and then click **Activation**.
6. Assign the page in one of these ways, and then click **Save**:
   * **App default:** Make it the home page for the FieldKo app, so everyone who uses that app sees it.
   * **App and profile:** Make it the home page for managers' profiles in the FieldKo app, and keep the standard home page for everyone else.

A Report Chart component shows the report's data as the person viewing the page, so each manager sees their own team when the report is filtered to **My team's** records. For more about building pages, see the [Lightning App Builder](https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/modules/lightning_app_builder) module on Trailhead.

<Tip>
Save each list view with **All users can see this list view** selected, or share it with a public group of managers, so every manager can use it on their home page and in the Visits tab.
</Tip>

## Before You Change a Live App

* Make app and home page changes in a sandbox first, and check them as a manager user. See [Manage Releases: Sandboxes, Deployments, and Package Upgrades](/platform/data/releases).
* If you remove a tab from an app, people can still open it from the App Launcher if their permission set grants it. To remove access, change the permission set, not the app.
* Reps don't need either app to use the FieldKo Atlas app.
