# Share of Shelf and Planogram Compliance

> Build reports from survey answers that show planogram compliance and share of shelf by store, rep, and region.

Share of shelf is your brand's portion of the shelf, usually measured in facings. Planogram compliance is the percentage of checks where the shelf matched the agreed layout. Use this recipe to report on both from the surveys reps complete in the FieldKo Atlas app.

FieldKo doesn't have dedicated facings or planogram fields. Reps answer survey questions instead, often with a photo. How you report on those answers depends on how the questions are built, so read Before You Begin first.

## User Permissions Needed

| To do this | You need |

| Create, edit, and save reports | Create and Customize Reports |
| See FieldKo fields and records in reports | FieldKo Manager Permission Set |

## Before You Begin

Each survey answer is a **Task Survey Answer** record. The **Answer** field stores every answer as long text, even for number questions, so a report can't add up, average, or group by it. Scored questions are different: the points for each answer are stored in **Score Obtained** and **Out of Score**, which are number fields.

Work with your admin on these changes before you build the summary reports:

1. **Make planogram questions scored.** For example, a picklist question "Is the shelf set to planogram?" with the values `Yes,No`, **Options Weightage** `Yes:1,No:0`, **Out of Score** `1`, and **Make Photo Required** selected. Set the survey's **Calculate Score** to **SUM**. See [Scoring](/admin/surveys#scoring).
2. **Make share of shelf reportable.** Either use a scored picklist with share bands, such as `Under 10%,10-25%,25-50%,Over 50%`, or ask your admin how to store number answers in a number field. See [Design Surveys and Tasks for Reporting](/platform/customize/design-surveys-for-reporting).
3. **Add the score fields to a report type.** The report types that come with FieldKo don't include **Score Obtained** or **Out of Score**. Ask your admin to add them, or to create a report type with **Task Survey Answers** as the primary object that includes them, plus the visit's **Account** and **Sales Representative** through lookups. See [Report Folders, Sharing, and Custom Report Types](/platform/reports/folders-and-report-types).

After your admin changes a survey, check a survey that a rep completed recently. If **Score Obtained** is blank on its answers, contact your admin before you rely on the report.

## What You'll Build

* **Planogram Compliance by Store:** The percentage of planogram checks that passed, by rep and store.
* **Share of Shelf by Store:** The share band, or score, recorded at each store's latest visits.
* **Shelf Photo Review:** Every answer to a shelf question, with its photo, for a visual check. This report works today, without any changes.

## Report 1: Planogram Compliance by Store

### Report Type

The survey answer report type with score fields that your admin set up.

### Filters

| Filter | Value |
| - | - |
| **Question Definition** | equals your planogram question. Use its **Question Name**, which you find on the **Question** tab. |
| **Created Date** | **This Month** |

### Group By

1. **Sales Representative**
2. **Account**

### Columns and Summary Formulas

Add **Question**, **Answer**, **Picture**, **Score Obtained**, and **Out of Score**. Summarize **Score Obtained** and **Out of Score** with **Sum**. Then add a summary formula named `Planogram Compliance` with **Percent** formatting:

```text theme={null}
Score Obtained (Sum) ÷ Out of Score (Sum)
```

In the formula editor, insert each field and select **Sum**, and then type `/` between them.

### Chart Suggestion

A bar chart of **Planogram Compliance** by **Sales Representative**, with a target line on the dashboard.

## Report 2: Share of Shelf by Store

Use the same report type, and filter **Question Definition** to your share of shelf question.

* **With a banded picklist:** Group by **Account**, and show **Answer** and **Score Obtained**. Average **Score Obtained** by rep or region to compare teams.
* **With a number field your admin added:** Summarize that field with **Average** by **Account**, product category, or region.
* **Chart suggestion:** A column chart of **Average of Score Obtained** by region.

## Report 3: Shelf Photo Review

This report uses a report type that comes with FieldKo, so you can build it today.

* **Report type:** **Visits with Survey Answers**
* **Filters:** **Survey** equals your shelf survey; **Completion Date** equals **Last Week**.
* **Group By:** **Sales Representative**, and then **Account**.
* **Columns:** **Subject**, **Actual End**, **Question**, **Answer**, and **Picture**.

**Picture** shows a thumbnail of the answer's photo. When an answer has several photos, open the answer and click **View Images**.

## Variations

* **By account grade:** If your admin includes the account's **Grade** in the report type, group Report 1 by it to check that your A stores are compliant first.
* **Several shelf questions in one score:** Filter on **Survey** instead of one question. The summary formula then gives the survey's overall score.
* **Survey-level score:** Each **Task Survey** also has **Score Obtained**, **Out of Score**, and **Score %** for the whole survey. Ask your admin to include them if you want one row per completed survey.

## Tips

* Add a **Not Applicable** option with **Skip Scoring** selected for stores without the fixture, so they don't count as failures.
* Don't change the values or weightage of a question that's in use. Old and new answers then score differently, and trends break. Create a new question instead.
* Use photos to audit the scores. Spot-check Report 3 against Report 1 each month.
