# Collaborate in Chatter

> Read and post to Salesforce Chatter from the app, mention colleagues, and add photos and files.

## Before You Begin

* Chatter needs an internet connection.
* If **Chatter** isn't in your side menu, your admin hasn't turned it on.

<Warning>
  When you're offline, Chatter doesn't show an error. Posts, likes, and comments don't go through. Before you write a post, check that **Status** says **Online** on the [Sync screen](/sync/sync-screen).
